I made the entire Cage crinoline that is under the blue dress. This took me only about 6 hours. I used Zipties for the main structure. Yes you read that right, Zip ties. They were about 1/2 inch wide and i bought them at harbor freight tools. To connect them i sewed them together and used little bits of smaller zipties to hold everything together. I then made the casings for each layer out of a white cotton Poly blend. I sewed everytthing together added the long zipties and then added eyelets in the center back so we could lace it onto the model.

The dress was patterned and mostly made by two other students, but i did the front and back seams, added the zipper, took the dress out about 2 inches on each side becuase it was way too small, patterned and sewed on the sleeves and distressed and painted the bottom of the hem.
